Monday Music: Jens Lekman

Swedish born artist: Jens Lekman.

I first saw Jens Lekman, at Pitckfork Festival Paris in a packed house and I was in love with his quirky music. Fresh and Funny and an interesting contrast between little petite Swedish singer, and his big boned drummer and back up vocalist. We danced laughed and sang along with the happy swede, just as a concert should be, good music and a personal connection with the artist, even if he is 50 meters away on a scene. One of my biggest pet peeves of musicians, is when one pays to come hear the music live and the artist is too cool to connect with the public. I understand tours can be gruesome and long and repetitive but its not a bad way to make a living. As I think back all my favorite shows are not always my favorite bands but those who perform well. Here is my top ten live concerts.
